Monday, January 2nd, 2012 3:05:45 by Usman KhalidEverybody thinks a new year will be full of new opportunities and chances to eradicate the problems and perils that lay in the current year. However, as much as the New Year ’s Eve is full of hope, all those plans made on 31st December or 1st
January fade out in a matter of two or three months tops.
The reason for this kind of unsuccessful venture is the poor planning and even disappointing execution. More like the bank account held poorly in the month without proper planning, the new year resolutions go to the paper trash basket by the end of March.
Most of the New Year’s resolutions are related to either health or wealth. People either think of losing weight or saving money for uncertain situations or something that they plan on buying at the end of the year.
However, these resolutions need a proper planning phase that requires a clear thought on the activities in the past year. The pros and cons of the activities done should be jot down and the activities that can help in achieving the resolutions should be
written with thoroughly and precisely.
The more thought is given to the activities that are to be done, the easier and efficient the solution becomes. The first step of the passing a resolution is to never stop at two or three words.
Take out a paper and pencil and write down a proper procedure to achieve the target. Start with the easy steps and then move to more effective ones. Like if the New Year resolution is to reduce weight, start with an easy physical activity that does not require
much of your time. Then move to home exercises and then if you stick to the routine, award yourself with a gym membership.
Now that the planning phase is complete, make not of keeping yourself motivated. There are numerous ways by which you can motivate yourself time after time. However, since the modern technology is so much affordable and within easy reach of everybody, take
advantage of it.
