Blackberry lowers tablet prices in United States

RIM, Research in Motion, the maker of the tablet Playbook and Blackberry phones, has lowered their prices in America. And it does so with unprecedented formula: all models of the tablet, regardless of their different features,
have the same price i.e. $ 299.

However, this amazing offer is for a limited time period.

So far, they have implemented this policy in Spain. In the Spanish site of the Blackberry, it keeps prices ranging between $ 499 and 699, depending on model. Research in Motion has announced the price changes days after Sony lowered
their tablet price by arguably hundred U.S dollar.

This is particularly because they had a terrible last year, which saw outages and delays and dealing with low sales.

These changes have been made keeping in mind the company had a bad year in terms of sale and stock market. The results published on the third quarter of 2011 indicate a decline in profits of 71%.

Blackberry has had problems with their tablet, which has failed to convince the buyers for their mobile phones.

In November some U.S. stores offered discounts of $ 200. Some reports suggest that a Canadian Company sold their tablet at a discounted price of $ 300 Canadian dollars.

However in Britain, they offered discounts of 230 pounds while keeping the price difference between models.

The reason behind the sudden change of prices in different regions is because of failure of the global consequences that paralyzed its unique messaging system in October, last year. Another reason could be the difficulties in launching
new smart phones.

Blackberry is now expected to renew their catalogue, later this year. They are also facing difficulties in introducing a new operating system to detect the excessive consumption of battery in their prototypes.

Although their market share has declined in the United States, there is a greater penetration of smart phones in other countries and, unlike other manufacturers; Blackberry does not have patent problems, for example, manufacturers
that equip their mobile Android.
