Islamabad: (Friday, January 06, 2012) Considering it was high time the federal agency had provided long awaiting dwellers of sector I-11 with basic amenities, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced to start development
work in the area. The ground breaking ceremony to the work was organized yesterday in presence of the Chairman CDA Farkhand Iqbal and Chairman Prime Minister’s Task Force on Islamabad Faisal Sakhi Butt.
Expressing his views on the occasion, the chairman CDA said it was one of the major responsibilities of the CDA to provide affordable housing and basic facilities to the dwellers of Islamabad. He said opening up new sectors in
Islamabad Capital Territory was on top of the CDA agenda for which they had made a comprehensive policy to start development of stalled sectors on war-footings so that the allottees could be handed over possession of their plots to build their own homes.
Promising the community to be delivered with allottees letter for the possession of their plots, the chairman CDA said, “The authority will soon fulfil its commitment to the allottees by handing over possession of plots to them
in other stalled sectors like D-12, E-12, I-14 and I-15 soon”. However, to quicken the action, he requested cooperation and help from allottees and affectees.
“The development of Sector I-11 would be completed on fast track and within the stipulated time-frame. I also implore the local people to join hands with CDA in making Islamabad more clean, green and beautiful city”, added Mr.
Farkhand Iqbal.
Addressing to the people and reporters on the occasion, Chairman Prime Minister’s Task Force, Mr. Faisal Sakhi Butt said Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has entrusted the Task Force on Islamabad with the responsibility to
chalk out a comprehensive strategy to open up new sectors and take immediate steps for the initiation of development of stalled sectors to overcome the shortage of housing units in the federal units.
Adding to his comments, he appreciated Chairman CDA’s efforts for taking concrete measures for the development of sector I-11 in a very short time, which was stalled since 1990. He congratulated the allottees and hoped that they
would soon be able to construct their homes on the plots, which were allotted to them long ago.
