Friday, January 6th, 2012 6:08:17 by Usman KhalidConsumer Electronic Show version 2012 is just days away now and the Major US technology companies are buckling up for exhibitions and press conferences on the D-Day. Many companies from abroad are also eyeing the show to showcase their new products like
HTC and Samsung. However, the company that is expected to steal the spotlight from its peers is Intel.
For the last two years, the Silicon Valley giant has not announced a single revolutionary product to the market besides the current line of semi-conductors known as the Core i-series. However, the company is expect to raise curtains on some new products,
especially in the mobile technology, which currently is reined by NVIDIA with its dual-core and quad-core processor for smartphones and tablets.
However, the latest edition of the CES is considered to be mobile tech-centric and one of the big reasons is the release of some new tablets and smartphones from Nokia and Sony Ericsson. However, Intel is expected to take both mobile computing and personal
computing in their stride in this upcoming show.
Intel announced in 2011 that they are working on system-on-a-chip circuits and this year probably will see some of the new products built with its processors inside. NVIDIA is also planning to introduce the quad-core processor to smartphone segment.
Moreover, the company is also speculated to announce new compact and more efficient processors for the ultra-slim notebooks, which have gathered a lot of attention of late. Apple released its first ultra-slim notebook called the Macbook Air in 2008 and has
since then spurred a new technology of extremely thin laptops.
