HP Envy 15 hits the market after weeks of delay – Part 1
Friday, January 6th, 2012 3:52:55 by Usman KhalidHewlett-Packard (HP) announced a new high-end laptop, HP Envy 15, in the US late in December, 2011. However, this premium product was released to the market this Tuesday after a three-week delay.
The new notebook from HP is not a specialized gaming computer, though because of a number of factors, it can easily be considered a top-of-the-line product. With an Intel Core i5 processor, the CPU does come up to the standards of a high-end product that
can become one of the favourites for the use of graphic-intensive application, not multi-layered 3D (polygonal) games though.
The design has been revamped massively with simple features, and the thickness has been reduced substantially although it does not fall under the ultra-slim laptop category. One of the main features of the notebook is its keyboard, with occupies the space
in its full glory. The keys are not cramped up and they work superbly with big fingers as well.
The whole keyboard is LED backlit with a separate light source under each key, which gives it an elegant look in the dark, aside from the ease of getting bearings while typing lengthy documents. The four corner keys however, have fallen victim to the design,
which is round at the edges. However, that is no bother in the usage.
The black mat finish to keys is a match to external side of the screen lid and bottom of the laptop, where the battery is located. Remaining part of the computer, the tray and the inner side of the lid, are silver in colour. The contrast gives an exquisite
look to the product but the most distinctive part of the notebook is the red outline on the inside edge of the pressed down keyboard area. Although that does not align with the overall colour scheme of the product, it does not give an odd look to it either.
