Lahore: (Friday, January 06, 2012) Lately, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has emerged as a party witch a unique definition of democracy. To them, democracy is only when they are in the power, and when nobody is allowed to point out
their deficiencies and their way of governance. Yesterday, while celebrating 84th birth anniversary of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Governor Punjab Mr. Latif Khosa expressed similar views.
Addressing the cake-cutting ceremony at Governor House, he said, “No judge, general or any super power can think of sabotaging the people’s government in Pakistan.
Besides Mr. Khosa, other senior members of PPP, including Faryal Talpur, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Secretary General Senator Jehangir Badr, PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, coordinator to President
for Punjab Naveed Chaudhry, provincial Finance Secretary Aurangzeb Bukhari were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, the governor said Zulfiqar Bhutto was the name of an ideology and he rendered a remarkable sacrifice for the sake of democracy and the federation. He said Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto defeated the dictatorial
mindset by laying down his own life and by not bowing before a dictator.
Expressing his views regarding his party completing the term, Khosa said democracy was going to complete its strength in the country. He said the people of Pakistan were united with a strong bond of commitment with the Bhuttos
and believed that there was nothing above the country’s sovereignty as depicted in one of the statement of ZAB when he stated that Pakistan would become a nuclear power even if we had to suffer from starvation.
The role ZAB played for strengthening and rebuilding Pakistan cannot be denied, however, PPP government, especially the present regime has only added to the woes and miseries of the dwellers of the land of the pure. And finally,
when rife with unprecedented corruption, the PPP rule is finally going to end, they have once again adopted “democracy” as a slogan. This is altogether a different matter that their government has emerged as an inefficient and civil-dictatorship regime.
