Vidya Balan says she was crazy about Madhuri Dixit

Bollywood buzz, Vidya Balan, who has now become one of the leading actresses in Bollywood, has revealed that Madhuri Dixit was an inspiration to her and she is a big fan of her.

Vidya Balan, who shocked everyone with her excellent performance in the film ‘The Dirty Picture’, was not perceived as ‘oomphy’ as Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Chopra, Priyanka Chopra or even
Anushka when it comes to a stage performance. However now she is on the wish-list of almost every film maker out there and this is all because of the stupendous success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ in which Balan showed people how good she can be at her erotic best.

Nevertheless, the leading actress is didn’t hesitate when she was asked about her idol. Balan stated she used to dance a lot on Madhuri’s songs and she was an inspiration to her.

"I was crazy about Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Ek Do Teen’ and I used to break into a dance everytime it played. In, fact I started to believe that I could be a junior Madhuri Dixit… I am sure several others would
have also felt that way," Vidya told reporters here after unveiling the first look of her forthcoming film ‘Kahani’.

"But that was the time when I felt I should be an actor," she added.

Bollywood’s diva Madhuri, who is famously known for her natural acting, graceful dancing and smile, has certainly contributed a lot for the Indian cinema. Only a few can forget her performances in the
films like "Tezaab", "Ram Lakhan", "Sajan", "Beta", " Dil", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun!", "Dil Toh Pagal Hai" and "Devdas".

Madhuri has also earned herself a place at London’s Madame Tussauds and it’s only a matter of time now before she will be immortalised in wax over there. Madhuri is also likely to play the leading role
in ‘Dedh Isqhiya’, which is a sequel to Vidya’s film.

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan will be seen playing a lead role in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming movie ‘Kahani’. She will play a pregnant woman’s role in the movie, which is all set to release in the cinemas on March
9, 2012.
