Apple to release two tablets in 2011 – Part 2
Saturday, January 7th, 2012 2:01:46 by Usman KhalidHowever, there is more to this news than just two separate releases. The March launch is anticipated to address the new subcategory in the tablet industry. After the huge success of Amazon’s Kindle Fire, Apple, for the first time in history, has been forced
to address to the newly developed quandary. Although the Kindle Fire holds a fraction of the market, its price and smart handling is expected to gouge more Apple in the coming years. Therefore, Apple’s new iPad 3 will be either a 7-inch or 8-inch display with
all the gismos of the iPad 2. The succeeding tablet will a full-fledge 10-inch device with all and more to the iOS 5. Both devices will seamlessly connect to the iCloud.
The source further explained two most important features in the next generation tablets. One is regarding the display size and the other is regarding the resolution. So far iPad remains the only mobile device from Apple that does not incorporate a Retina
Display. Both latest editions of iPhone and iPod come with the signature display that has a whopping 332 pixels per inch (ppi).
The source quoted that Apple contracted with Samsung for a Retina Display panel for the tablet. In some leaked pictures, the rumour has been evidenced with several components that resemble the Retina Display parts in an iPhone 4.
This, however, compromises the width of the tablet, one of the major selling points of iPad. iPad 2 is extremely thin with one of the brightest displays in the market but a Retina Display might call for more space. In that regard, the company has allegedly
developed a new battery that is thin and more efficient than the one used in the iPad 2. The 2011 release achieved a new benchmark of 10 hours of battery life however; the new release is expect to surpass it.
Furthermore, the source stated that both slates will embrace HD display size and will be able to play 1080p videos. The cameras might also be capable of capturing HD video, up to 720p.
