Misbah defends his leadership style

Pakistan’s skipper Misbah-ul-Haq has claimed that he does not bother about criticism on his leadership as long as the team is winning matches.
The 37-year-old led Pakistan to six victories out of 10 Tests in 2011 and lost just one. He did not lose a single series as captain and might end up as the most successful captain in the history of the country.
Despite his achievements, Misbah has faced a lot of criticism for his defensive approach.
Cricket these days should be taken up with a balanced approach," Misbah said at the end of a four-day training camp at the Gaddafi Stadium organised to help Pakistan prepare for their upcoming series against England in the UAE. "[But] it’s better to
win by playing defensively, instead of losing by playing aggressively. It’s all about the situation; what you are required to do or not do in a particular scenario."
Critics also claim that Pakistan have been lucky last year, winning against weaker oppositions like Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ireland and West Indies.
However, the Men in Green also played well against stronger oppositions like Sri Lanka, New Zealand and West Indies.
The real challenge for Misbah and his men will be to do well against the number one Test side England, who are in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) these days for a complete series hosted by Pakistan.
Although England have been playing extremely well in the longest version of the game, Misbah was not worried about the status of the opposition and said he was ready to take on anyone.
The Pakistani skipper said, "My approach is simple in cricket: when you go onto the ground, give your 100% and focus on your performance. Forget about who the opposition is, do what you can do right, play tough cricket and then you look at the
results. When you do all these things right, results will be in your favour."
The Poms are also not taking the series lightly at all, as they believe Pakistan will be a tougher opposition this time around.
Andrew Strauss and his men have been criticised for not being able to deliver on slower wickets, but they have a chance to prove everyone wrong by beating a competitive Pakistan side.
