Energy crisis in Pakistan (Party One)

As the winter is going severe with every passing day, the energy crisis is becoming worsened. The hours long gas and electricity load-shedding, price hikes and CNG closure are doubling the miseries of masses.

This not only disturbed the lives of a common man but also shook up country’s major industries. Prices of all commodities of daily use have been increased with the increment in the petroleum products that made the life of a common man more difficult to meet the both ends.

In summers, we face inadequate electricity outages, but now the government also started facilitating us in winters, in terms of gas load shedding.

The Pakistanis have evolved a life-style with timings of the power outages, which also gets disturb with the unannounced shut downs.

Unfortunately, we are one of the fastest growing states in the world in terms of population. However, our government did not formulate any plan to meet the demand and supply in terms of energy.

One of the many hurdles in the way to progress is the lack of infrastructure deepening the already debased system.

Transport system is one of the many examples. We did not come up with an ample communication system to meet the demands of growing population despite having network of roads, even in the urban areas.

The incompetent public transport system led the masses to rely on private vehicles.

The rapid evolution of middleclass in the previous decade as well as a culture supporting utilization is one of the many other factors in the energy crisis. The numbers of private vehicles have been increasing with grant of loans on low interest rates.

A vast number of people are unable to run private vehicles in the present scenario. Additionally we are also unable to observe our cultural norms.

Mostly our females prefer to travel on private vehicles due to inadequate public transport. However, it seems difficult to continue this tradition.

At the same time, owning a car has been become a status symbol, resultantly higher rate of fuel consumption.
