Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI), Imran Khan has claimed that the politicians who are rapidly joining his party will have to act upon his party’s agenda or else they will not be a part of the top leadership of the party in the long-run.
Imran is without doubt the most popular political figure of the country and his party, which struggled to gain attention in the political circle of Pakistan for almost fifteen years, is now fast becoming the third major political force in the country with
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (N).
Since, Imran’s massive public meeting in Lahore in October, 2011, a number of seasoned politicians have joined his party and there has been criticism on PTI for including the tried and tested faces.
PTI has become a symbol of change in Pakistan and this is the reason why people want to see new faces in the party who have a clean past just like Imran.
However, Imran believes that he will not let anyone hijack his party and the people joining PTI will have to act upon its policies and agenda. The cricketer turned politician slammed some of the political forces who are organizing processions and public
meetings only to counter the growing the popularity of PTI.
Imran said, “All those who have joined PTI will have to act upon my party’s agenda, or they won’t come on top. Those who fear losing cannot win. Parties who have announced rallies to counter my Tsunami are amongst those who fear losing.”
Former world cup winning captain of Pakistan expressed that his spiritual teacher is Allama Mohammad Iqbal, the great poet from subcontinent. Imran revealed that it is the poetry of Iqbal, which gave him the courage to fight during the 15 years of his political
struggle.
“Many people tried to stop me from joining politics but my understanding of the poetry of Iqbal was what did not allow me to suppress my voice against injustice. I struggled to create awareness among people for 15 years and now the time has come when people
will not allow family political parties to again come into power again,” Chairman PTI said.
He further added that the world does not understand the true spirit of Jehad and expressed, “Jihad is a great concept and the key to succeed. People who come out of their houses to raise voice against injustice are also on the path of jihad.”
