Facebook teams up with Moo to offer business cards for users

World famous social network, Facebook, has offered free arty cards for 200,000 users based on their user profiles after teaming up with Moo, a British business card maker.

These cards will be called Facebook Cards. Each Facebook Card will be made from a set template. As far as the design of the card is concerned, it will take the profile picture of a user
as the image and the personal details will be gleaned on the card in the basis of their description on the site.

The first 200,000 users who sign up to this new scheme will receive a bundle of 50 free personalised cards. It means that a total of 10 million cards will be given to the users over a
short period of time.

The users who want to apply for their first official Facebook Card will have to click on ‘About’ in the their basic information section on the new Timeline profile page. After that they
must scroll down to ‘Contact Info’ and hover the mouse over a little business card icon which will direct them to Moo.

The cards without any shipping charges will be given to the first 50,000 users but after that, a small fee as shipping cost will be charged for them.

Speaking to the media, chief executive and founder of Moo, Richard Moross said, “MOO.com is very excited to announce this integration with Facebook to provide a revolutionary new customer
experience that brings together Facebook Timeline with MOO’s high-quality printed products.”

The users who have downloaded ‘Timeline’ can only get this offer. Timeline is a new type of profile on Facebook that allows users to tell the story of their life on a single page.

Mark Zuckerberg explained, “Millions of people curate stories of their lives on Facebook every day and have no way to share them once they fall off your profile page…we have been working
on ‘timeline’ all year…it’s the story of your life and completely new way to express yourself.”

The purpose behind the launch of business card offer in association with Moo was to boost up the adoption rate of Timeline, which has a radically different looking profile page. Facebook
started the global rollout of the new profile page last month.
