Supreme Court to take unpleasant steps if govt. fails to implement its verdict by 16th

Islamabad: (Tuesday, January 10, 2012) Announcing its decision over NRO case today, the Supreme Court observed that despite clear orders, the government and the National Accountability Bureau did not seem serious about implementing
the court orders.

Sharing his remarks over the case, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that the Supreme Court was a giving a last chance to the government to implement its verdict in letter and spirit on NRO latest by January 16.

Warning the government of grave consequences for non compliance of its verdict, Justice Khosa observed that it will compel the court to take certain measures which would not be pleasant.

Giving its detailed decision on the long pending case, the bench comprised of senior judges gave six options to the government and asked the attorney general to come up with a solid reason by Jan 16 regarding why not to implement
them.

While reading out the court’s order, Justice Khosa expressed his sheer disappointment over the fact that the government had deliberately not implemented the apex court’s verdict on NRO. He also noted that the chairman for National
Accountability Bureau deliberately avoided taking action against Malik Qayyum and Adnan Khwaja.

Referring to another government official, the law secretary, Justice Khosa said that he paid more attention towards his foreign visits rather than proceeding of the apex court.

The court categorically made it clear that the NAB and the government were not serious about implementing the orders and had not acted on those for over two years. He also referred to the President Asif Ali Zardar who, in an interview
to a private channel, had refused to accept the court’s orders.

Justice Khosa also highlighted the occasions in which the Prime Minister and the law minister publicly refused to accept and abide by the court’s orders. Justice Khosa also added that both PM and the President had shown greater
loyalty to the party rather than the state. He was of the view that every time the government breaks a law, it sets a wrong precedent for the common citizens.

In the detailed version on NRO, Justice Khosa also observed that Prime Minister had violated his oath by not implementing the honourable court’s verdict on the NRO and that, for doing so, the court could declare him ineligible
for the office.

While summoning the attorney general, the court gave one last chance to the PM and the President to follow the verdict of the court or else remain prepared for the consequences.

I will request all Pakistani leaders and key personnel to respect SC decisions if they love their mother land. We have God blessed country and we all are known being Pakistani because of this country. We should not damage the image and nest of little less than 18 crores. The remaining are seasonal birds and will fly toward green pastures if difficult time may come.

Please be sincere to Pakistan and leave your self aside. The politician can only do politics if the country is their. No other country will let them do politics in their country.
Once again respects the virdict and repend what government/politician and everyone has done to this great country.
May God Bless this country and people (AMIN)
