The main emphasize at the event was on the Metro interface and its objectivities in the ease-of-use. Although it looks more like the Windows Media’s latest version and Windows Phone interface, it gives a new way to look at the nearly two decade-old operating system. The big bang was however, made by Microsoft’s Xbox peripheral, Kinect, that will be embraced by Windows-based desktops and laptops. The device is already in the market but the new version will now become compatible with PCs and tablets as well.

The company demonstrated the features of Kinect in the keynotes. The motion-sensor device can observe movements of the user and command the objects in the program to act accordingly.
