Sony annouces its new smartphone Sony Xperia S at the Consumer Electronic Show 2012 – Part 2

The solid casing of the Xperia S is a uni-body structure that has a SIM tray and other ports on each edge of the phone.
The smartphone is packed with the latest gadgetry and circuitry inside. It is powered by a fast dual-core NVIDIA processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. With 32 GB of internal storage, the phone swipes off the need of external memory but still it has a micro-SD card slot.
The screen is AMOLED, protected by the Gorilla Glass which is both scratch and stain free. Even at first glance, the phone gives the look of having an HD screen. And indeed the phone has a 1,280×720-pixel high-resolution, high definition screen, that is capable of playing both 720p and 1080p videos.
However, the most astonishing and mind blowing feature of the phone is the primary camera. The Xperia S sports a whopping 12 mega pixel snapper at the rear end. The huge camera is capable of capturing 1080p resolution video. Another secondary camera is nestled at front for video chatting.
The only drawback of the new phone was its operating system, Android 2.2 Gingerbread,which is quite old school in the market that has embraced the newest version of Android, the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the company announced that the new ICS version will be available for the Xperia S by the end of second half of calendar year 2012.
Furthermore, Sony added that the new ICS will not pose any problems in the handset. Lately, the Galaxy Nexus—first smartphone to sport ICS—stirred up curiosity among the experts, whether the new OS will work on other handset or not as the Nexus lacks any physical or capacitive button.
The Xperia S has three physical buttons at the bottom for Home Screen, Search and Multi-tasks. These button have captions underneath them that glow when using the keys or receiving a call. In addition, the phone offers HDMI, micro-USB, headset jack and volume rocker at each edge.

Dear Ms. Rubab,
Sony is currently in the process of completing the acquisition of their joint venture, Sony Ericsson. Therefore, all the new arrivals are expected to hit the market earliest by March or latest by the second quarter of calendar year 2012. However, this being Pakistan, Xperia S is expected to arrive in Karachi and Lahore somewhere in the summers. You can wait for Xperia S or there is another option from former Sony Ericsson, the Xperia arc S with Android Froyo. It also has an HD camera as well.
