Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf, Imran Khan believes that the solution of Pakistan’s internal and external problems lies in democracy and his party will not support any unconstitutional act by the military.
The current government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is having poor relations at the moment with the military and the judiciary of the country. Some of the political analysts believe that the present regime of Asif Ali Zardari and Yousuf Raza Gillani is
the most incompetent and corrupt government of the history of Pakistan.
The relations between the civil government and the military have deteriorated in the country rapidly since the memo-gate controversy broke-out.
Imran has been a big critic of the current ruling class of Pakistan but he still believes that Martial Laws have not served the country well in last 65 years. In his opinion, the government should announce elections as soon as possible and this is the only
way Pakistan can move forward at the present moment.
Imran believes that it is not the job of the military to solve the political problems of the country and being a leader of fast growing political force of the Pakistan, the cricketer turned politician does not want the system to be derailed.
He said, "Well, you know I am a politician, I am completely against all sorts of military solutions. I have always believed that the military solutions are counterproductive. Military action is military action, shedding blood I disagree with it. It has never
solved humanity’s problems."
While slamming the policy of the US in the war against terrorism, Imran said that force can never bring about peace in this world and the whole world can see that the US has badly failed in Afghanistan and Iraq, even though it is the so-called ‘Super Power’
of the world.
"The US, which has the most powerful military machine, is stuck in Afghanistan and it is also debatable whether they have got a long lasting solution in Iraq. Look at the number of people dead, look at the cost over a trillion dollars, the human cost, the
cost to the economies," Chairman PTI added.
