Government seeks parliament’s support in the present political situation through resolution

Islamabad: (Saturday, January 14, 2012) Desperate to salvage the moral grounds to rule the masses any further, the government yesterday submitted a resolution in the National Assembly to seek support from the parliament in the
current political situation.

The resolution, that called the assembly peoples’ representative which came into being after innumerable sacrifices, was presented by ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan.

To allow the ANP leader to deliberate on the resolution, Speaker Assembly Fehmida Mirza suspended the rules of business. As per the news, the resolution will now be voted on Monday.

The resolution presented yesterday in the assembly stated, “This house reiterates the belief of the democratic forces that the future of Pakistan and well-being of its people lies in the continuation and strengthening of democratic
institutions and constitutionalism for the resolution of national issues…strengthening of the federation and empowering the people of Pakistan.”

The resolution further stated that the House believed that for the furtherance of democracy and democratic institutions the basic constitutional principle of treichotomy of powers must be fully respected and adhered to and all
state institutions must strictly function within the limits imposed on them by the Constitution.

It further stated, “This House endorses and supports the efforts made by the political leadership for strengthening democracy and reposes full confidence and trust in them.”
