ruled by the Pakistan People’s Party.

The stance taken by the Prime Minister of Pakistan shows the full support of the government for the military of Pakistan. Yousuf Raza Gilani expressed himself in the following words: "The armed forces of Pakistan are a pillar of the nation’s resilience and
strength. The nation applauds their heroic services in the defense of the motherland. Our government and parliament and above all our patriotic people have stood fully behind our brave armed forces and security personnel."

meeting.

In order to calm down the tensions that are growing between the military of the country as well as the government, Kayani also talked with the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.

There have been rumors in the country that the military of Pakistan might undertake a coup if the political situation of the country does not stabilize itself. The tensions between the military and the government were triggered due to the memo gate scandal
that involves the former Pakistani ambassador to the United States, Hussain Haqqani.

The memo gate case that is currently under the scrutiny of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, holds Haqqani responsible of passing on a message from the President of Pakistan to the US via a Pakistani businessman based in America. Allegedly, the message asked
the US to rein in the military of the country. The memo indicates that the government of Pakistan feared a coup after the death of Osama bin Laden and seeked the help of the US to avoid it.

The note under the question is not signed and the Supreme Court of Pakistan has been tasked with investigating it.
