The PML-N, in a major shift in its stance, reportedly decided to hold negotiations with all political parties including the PML-Q and MQM. In a bid to mount pressure on stressed ruling party, the PML-N decided to soften its attitude towards other political groups.
The major change in the PML-N posture is intended to foil a margin of a third force taking advantage of the situation aroused out of the inglorious memogate scandal, Dawn reported on Monday.
At a larger stage, PML-N Senator Mushahidullah Khan did not rule out possibility of dialogues among different parties including the PML-Q. He also stated that a meeting between PML-Q and PML-N could not be rejected in the present scenario.
They would talk with anyone who wants free and fair elections under an independent Election Commission, he stated while speaking to the media. According to the report, top leadership of the PML-N has not any consideration about Bangladesh model.
The report quoting sources also rejected the idea of technocrat setup comprised of judiciary and army. It stated that the second-level leadership will start dialogues with the MQM and PML-Q to set up ground for top leadership’s negotiations.
Earlier, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also showed his consent to hold dialogues with PML-N, inviting Mian Nawaz Sharif to come to talk with them about the early elections.
The report further stated that the PML-N wanted early elections and would seek assistance of other political forces. Apparently, the PML-N changed its policy in the current political scenario.
All the stage is being prepared in menace of the upcoming Senate polls in which the ruling PPP is expected to get larger bloc for the next three years.
It is unclear whether the PML-Q and MQM will be agreed to hold early elections or not, the ruling PPP will have to combat more battles to go for a smooth drive for majority in the upper house.
The judiciary, the army, the opposition parties will give tough time to the PPP in terms of going ahead.
