The search engines have been dominated by the US- and Japan-based technology companies in general and Google and Yahoo in particular, since the advent of the internet. Many other companies have also been successful in this segment. Ask.com and recently overhauled Microsoft’s flagship engine called Bing also have a substantial share in the market.

However, what these companies lack in their spiders is the observation of what the user is asking for. Kngine came up with the missing cog on their website, Kngine.com. In addition to yielding results for the keywords mentioned in the query string, the spiders observe the reason for the user’s query from the local cookies and the way it has been written in the search box.

The Egypt-based website has become a success with the idea of even more easier research through the portal and is planning to increase the span to other countries including the US, which is majorly dominated by the Google. However, there are many other local competitors to Kngine like DuckDuckGo, but they miss the talisman of search trends and keen observations incorporated in Kngine’s algorithms.

7.       Istikana

Jordan is going places in the world of web-based businesses. There have been many websites launched of late that cater to many desires and needs from videos to shopping to online music and news.

However, Istikana is one of kind in Middle Eastern market. Developed on the outlines of Hulu, online full-length video streaming portal, the website is waterlogged with Arabic variety of videos, ranging from music to movies to television series/seasons. The content on the website is 100 percent legal and can be viewed by signing up.
