Fifty sports cars and other vehicles used in the James Bond films can be seen in an exhibition that opens on Tuesday to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the debut film of the famous 007 franchise.
The legendary silver Aston Martin DB5 1964 and the Phantom III Rolls-Royce, which shared the limelight with Sean Connery in "Gold Finger" (1964) will be the main highlights of the show "Bond in Motion", organized by the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu,
Hampshire (Southern England).
Other attractions will be the Lotus Esprit S1 submersible, nicknamed "Wet Nellie", which led Roger Moore in "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977), the folding wings microavión Bede with the spectacular opening scene of "Octopussy" (1983) and BMW 750iL the missile
tested was Pierce Brosnan’s remote control, phone managed ride in "Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997).
In addition, fans of the film series based on Ian Fleming’s books will see the surfboard supercomputers with which Brosnan arrived at the North Korean coast riding the waves in "Die Another Day" (2002) or "prototype" Skyfleet S570, a modified Boeing 747,
which appears in "Casino Royale", the first film of the current 007 agent Daniel Craig.
The show, presented by its organizers is "the largest of its kind organized in the world, and will run until next December.The James Bond adventure film debuted in 1962 with "Agent 007 in Dr. No", where the first and most famous of all British secret agent
with license to kill, Sean Connery, along a multi-faced villain Chinese.
This autumn (northern hemisphere) will hit screens to the 23rd installment of the hit series that combines action, luxury cars and other nifty gadgets and beautiful women, "Skyfall", which be the third starring Craig and Spanish actor, Javier Bardem.
Sarah Wright, a spokeswoman for the National Motor Museum, said: "We anticipate many people coming through our doors to come and see one of the most unique exhibitions in the world."
