Karachi: (Tuesday, January 17, 2012) Coalition partners of Pakistan Peoples’ Party, including MQM, PML-Q and PML-F, which are more than happy with it in the centre, seem uncomfortable with the ruling party in Sindh Province.
In centre, for having direct interaction with the coalition partners, President Asif Ali Zardari, who is famous for going to any length for keeping his political support, takes care of all the supporting political leaders. However,
in Sindh, faced with local leadership of the party, the partners usually find it hard to get a smooth going with the provincial administrators.
Expressing similar views, PML-Q member Halim Adil Sheikh told the reporters that except President Asif Ali Zardari, no one else in his party seems caring of their political and ruling partners. Pinpointing SIndh Chief Minister
for his ignorant behavior towards his party, he said, “The Sindh chief minister never gives time to meet us and listen our grievances although President Zardari has extended support to PML-Q at the centre.”
Denying the allegations of PML-Q member, Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Agha Siraj Durrani, maintained a different view point and said that they were trying to maintain workable relations with all coalition partners and, on advice
of the president, they took all of them on board before making important decisions.
However, when asked from PML-F, another ruling partner of the PPP in Sindh, its central leader and adviser to the Sindh chief minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh said that his party had been completely ignored and the recommendations
given to the PPP regarding local bodies system were not taken into consideration.
