Angelina Jolie’s Salt receives decent reception by the critics

Phillip Noyce’s SALT is a 2010 thriller flick which was released on July 23rd, 2010. Angelina Jolie is the lead character alongside Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Daniel Olbrychski and August Diehl.
It is written by Kurt Wimmer and distributed by Colombia Pictures. James Newton Howard gave the music and edited by Stuart Baird.
Salt received mixed or generally favourable reviews. Review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes gave it an average rating of 6 out of 10, based on reviews by 227 critics. It also reported that 62 percent of people gave it positive ratings and the site’s general
consensus states, “Angelina Jolie gives it her all in the title role, and her seasoned performance is almost enough to save Salt from its predictable and ludicrous plot.”
The $110 million budgeted movie centres on a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Jolie), who was tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. She uses her years of experience and skills to prove her innocence. En route her mission, Salt encounters the
real spy and tries to stop her.
IMDB also gave it a 6.5 out of 10 rating based on 91,555 users.
Tom Long of the Detroit News further praised the movie by saying, “Salt is a smart, fast, breathless blast of a spy flick that emulates the Bourne films in all the right ways.”
Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post declared, “Salt, a ludicrous but somehow credible spy thriller starring Angelina Jolie, delivers a swift, super-charged kick in the pants.”
The movie grossed a total of $293.5 million from the Box Office, opening to the number one spot, beating Inception.
However, New Yorker’s David Conley had a different opinion. He said, “I can’t say if this nicely crafted nonsense will sell as a franchise, but I know that I miss the unpretentiousness of the Bourne movies.”
Salt is an exceptional action thriller and is a great way to spend time with your families and friends.
