Lahore: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan here today said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has decided not to quit assemblies as it will only pave the way for establishment to install a setup of its own choice.
Speaking to the reporters at Punjab Assembly cafeteria, the law minister, however, maintained that their decision to keep their parliamentary offices will not benefit the present regime and the days for PPP lead ruling alliance
were numbered. He said the government was to meet its logical end soon.
Rana Sanaullah said that options, including long march and sit-ins, were in offing to oust the PPP-government.
Commenting on Babar Awan, Sanaullah held him responsible of present situation which had prompted confrontation like situation between government and judiciary.
Saying that a change in the office of the Prime Minister will not affect the democracy, he said that if apex courts sack Gilani, it will not harm functioning of the parliament or Punjab Assembly.
Expressing his believe in the strength of the democratic system to sustain itself and to steer out from the present political chaos, he said, “These are democratic institutions and in the democratic system people come and go, but
it does not affect the functioning of the democratic institutions.”
Rana Sanaullah hoped that with intervention of Aitzaz Ahsan, the seasoned lawyer and experienced politician, situation for PPP government was likely to improve. He said, “Aitzaz is a wise person and he will hopefully give wise
suggestions to the government.”
