Islamabad: (Friday, January 20, 2012) Mansoor Ijaz, the key witness and a central character to the memo case, has expressed reservations over the summons issued by Parliamentary Committee investigating into the scandal, to him.
Expressing concerns over the issue, Akram Shaikh, Ijaz’s lawyer has taken up the issue with Attorney General of Pakistan Maulvi Anwarul Haq.
According to the sources, Akram Shaikh and Maulvi Anwarul Haq have discussed the legal aspects of Mansoor Ijaz’s appearance before the Parliamentary committee in detail.
The present Parliamentary committee was formed after Supreme Court was already moved by PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif to look into the matter.
While the apex court has summoned Mansoor Ijaz on January 24, the Parliamentary committee has asked the American National to appear and provide with his stance over the matter.
Probing into the matter, the committee has also sought replies from Hussain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz regarding national security affairs on January 23.
The committee has also asked the Attorney General to present the Blackberry data before it.
