Banned Indian film producer, Vijay Galani, has finally faced the media and shed light on his issues with Salman Khan regarding payments for the 2010 movie ‘Veer’. According to sources, the producer has been banned by FWICE for not making payments to the Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan.
Now, the director has finally commented on the issue and while speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, he said, “Unnecessarily, people have accused me of not paying Salman his dues. I do not owe Salman any money at all. I am clean. I know what I am saying. I have kept quiet for too long. Not anymore though.”
The film ‘Veer’ didn’t do well at the Box Office, which perhaps led the producer to stop the actor’s payment. This sort of action left Khan with no other choice and the actor decided to contact legal authorities to intervene into the matter and solve the problem.
The case refers to when Galani was put into question for not giving the dues he owed to the actor (Rs 15 crore). On December 2, 2010, Mumbai Mirror reported that the actor had asked the Federation of Western India Cine Employees to take actions against the director.
After the move, the board put forward a non-cooperation directive against Galani. Mumbai Mirror confirmed the action on January 18, 2012, when FWICE instructed Galani not to make anymore Bollywood movies unless he resolves all of his issues with Salman Khan.
Justifying his comments and asserting the fact that he had nothing to do with Salman regarding payments, he added, “Why doesn’t Salman talk to me if he has a problem? You know what, I have met him at least seven to eight times in the past and he has never mentioned anything about an outstanding payment for Veer. Yes, I know he has lodged a complaint against me in FWICE. So what? He doesn’t have the papers to prove that I have to give him any money.”
The producer is best known for his association with previous projects such as Bachke Rehna Re Baba (2005), Ajnabee (2001), Achanak (1998) and Suryavanshi (1992). However, let’s see what response he gets.
