Mansoor Ijaz says he will reveal the truth
Saturday, January 21st, 2012 5:00:39 by Faisal FarooqRepeating his claims of receiving threats from Pakistani officials, Pakistani-origin US business tycoon, Mansoor Ijaz, has said he had not afraid of anyone and nothing can stop me from visiting Pakistan.
While speaking to an Indian TV channel, Ijaz reinterred that nothing can stop him from coming to Pakistan, adding he will bring his BlackBerry devices and make them available to the Commission probing the controversial memogate.
He observed, “I am coming. I am going to tell the truth. I am going to put the truth on the record forcefully, and I am going to make sure that the people of Pakistan, finally, are able to hold their government accountable for the actions that they take in their name.”
Mansoor Ijaz, the central character in the Memogate case, has been summoned by the judicial commission investigating the memo issue on Jan 24, and before the Parliamentary Commission on National Security (PCNS) on Jan 26. He has been issued multiple-visa for one year, but he didn’t disclose his schedule due to security reasons.
He observed, “For me it just doesn’t matter who’s behind them. They are not going to stop me from coming. They can do what they want. And I say very clearly to the government, to those in the government, to the Interior Minister, who has made a lot of different statements and, sort of, veiled threats, and things of that nature against me, against members of my family…all this stuff is just hullabaloo.”
About arrest warning of Interior Minister Rehman Malik, the US-based businessman stated that the minister does not even know the facts and had been dispatching hidden threats to him through different sources.
He stated, “Rehman Malik is someone I believe, who is prone to make statements of such exaggeration, that he doesn’t even understand what the facts are.”
Replying to a query about Pakistani military establishment, particularly about ISI, he clarified that he was sticking on same stance what he mentioned in his article.
On the other day he claimed that he had now been assured by the US government of its support during his forthcoming visit to Pakistan. However, US embassy in Islamabad confirmed that no security had been assured to Pakistani-American businessman Mansoor Ijaz during his visit to Pakistan.
