Evander Holyfield discusses Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao mega-fight

Former four-time heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield, has shared his thoughts over the highly-anticipated upcoming fight between the five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather and the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

The pound-for-pound kings, Pacquiao and Mayweather, are considered as the best fighters on the planet and there fight, which is one of the most eagerly awaited, is finally expected to get real now. However, Holyfield thinks if the fight between these two happens it will be an even fight.

The Real Deal, Holyfield, told the media that Mayweather Jnr, who is the current WBC welterweight champion, never gets under pressure but this time he will be against a man who is known for putting pressure on his opponents and therefore to predict a winner in this fight is very hard for anyone.

“It will be a great fight. It’s hard to say, because both guys are so gifted and so capable of winning it from two different angles. You can’t count either of them out. Pacquiao doesn’t quit and Floyd is always able to make the adjustments … we’ve never seen him in any kind of trouble. No one has ever put pressure on Floyd. He has always had it, but now he’s fighting a guy who puts it on everyone.

“It goes down to what’s going to happen on the day and what each individual can pull out on the day, how they’ll deal with the pressure on them for each fighter to fight that last great fight,” Holyfield told Gulf News.

The undefeated American legend, Mayweather Jnr, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by way of a knockout, is returning to the ring on May 5 and he has challenged the Filipino star this time. Nevertheless, there fight is still in the making because Mayweather doesn’t want a 50/50 split with Pacquiao, who currently holds the WBO welterweight championship belt.

Well, all said and done, let’s hope the dream-fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, which is the biggest of this century ($100 million), finally gets made, as people desperately wants to see who the real P4P kings is.
