The Smartphones that have a longer battery life – Part 1
Tuesday, January 24th, 2012 4:14:42 by Usman KhalidSmartphones these days are something more than a cell phone and a personal digital assistant. These devices are social networking hub on the move and pack powerful web browsers to surf the internet. However, with all these tech gismos, the power supply can be compromised.
Most of the smartphones these days last one day after a decent use of applications from browsers to games to talk time but some just run out of juice in less than 24 hours even with most of the time idling on a table.
When the users depend so heavily on their handsets for calls and internet usage, the last thing they want is the battery to run out of charge. Now-a-days, the smartphones come with a slate of applications that engulf the need of games, personal schedulers, messaging, emails and general web surfing. However, the need of a long-lasting battery is eminent for a cell phone with these capabilities and usage.
Following are some of the smartphones that are host to most of the applications in the market and still sport longer battery lives than their peers.
1. Sony Xperia Arc S
Though the final verdict on the new instalment of the Xperia S is awaited, its predecessor, the Xperia Arc S sports a battery life that lasts longer than other phones in the market.
Packed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the phone comes waterlogged with Android applications and boast an 8 mega-pixel camera that captures 720p video.
However, despite all these technology attractions, the smartphone enjoys a long battery life in a thin chassis that lasts more than 36 hours.
2. Motorola Droid Razr
The comeback of the flagship brand from Motorola made its comeback into the smartphone industry late in 2011 and though it contains Android with a host of applications, it still keeps a long battery life.
Powered with a dual-core processor from NVIDIA with 1 GB of RAM and a flamboyant AMOLED screen, the phone comes with an even powerful battery that justifies all the tech advancements in it.
The phone has Android 2.3 Gingerbread as its operating system and welcomes the latest version, the Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the battery will still be its strongest suit despite the update to the latest version of the OS.
