Lahore: (Wednesday, January 25, 2012) Federal Minister for National Heritage and Pakistan People’s Party Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki here today asked the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of over 100 deaths
of heart patients amid the usage of medicines received from Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
Issuing a press statement, she also called for stern actions against those responsible for the tragic death of over hundred people and the number was still counting as the cure into the problem was still awaited.
Adding to her remarks, she also stressed the Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take solid steps to formulate the policy that may avert such issues in the future as primarily it was state’s duty to provide reliable health
services to the citizens.
Clearly mentioning that her statement did not intend to stire a political blame game, she however expressed the unequivocal demand to punish the culprits.
PPP Lahore Information Secretary, Abid Siddiqui, in a separate statement maintained that being opposition party of the province, it was their responsibility to highlight rights of the people. Thus it demanded the chief minister
to take action against those responsible for the incidence.
