Skeletons in the closet: US championing the cause of global police
This is undoubtedly the era of Neo-imperialism. After the defeat of the former USSR, the world was left at the mercy of one single super power. The era that kicked off in the last decade of the last century, marks the rise of a Unipolar world, unleashing
the covert, secret operations around the world, when the lone super power barged on a journey to tame the world for another 100 years.
The New World Order, the CTBT, the NPT were just honey-clad machinations of the the USA where it coerced the aspiring nations to abandon their plans to rise above the froth on the international arena.
What has been more interesting in this regard that this lone super power is not without usual skeletons in its closet.
Let’s have a look at the blatant human rights violation have been committed in the name of liberty, freedom and freedom of expression.
The founding fathers slaughtered Red Indians and millions across the Americas – what were they guilty of? The US overthrew democracy in Iran and put in place the Shah who murdered and tortured thousands – what were they guilty of? The US backed Saddam with
money and weapons even after he used chemical weapons against his own people – what were they guilty of? The US put Noriega in place and then when he stopped taking orders from the CIA they went into Panama and killed about 3000 people – what were they guilty
of?
Why did the CIA refer to 9/11 as "blowback" or the chickens coming home to roost? The US has been involved in overthrowing democracies, backing tyrant and oppressive regimes not only in the Muslim world but others as well.
The US backed and supported Saddam throughout the 80’s when he was an undemocratic tyrant who even used chemical weapons against his own people. The US supported him with money and weapons. Also look at US involvement in countries like Panama, Chile, Iran,
Nicaragua, Guatemala, Vietnam, Japan etc. Look at US support for other tyrants like Pinochet, Suharto, Shah, Noriega etc. Read books written by Americans themselves – for example: Perpetual War For Perpetual Peace: How We Got To Be So Hated by Gore Vidal.
The rule of “Cause and Effect” must be considered while analyzing the role of the US for the last 50 years.

It is a good question, Naveed.
…”What were they guilty of?”
I am an American, and I am asking these same questions. To date, I have not received a satisfactory answer.
We are not our government; and many of us do ask the hard questions. Unfortunately, the media is not interested in pushing the knowledge of our existence or in advertising our numbers.
“I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of their way and let them have it” – Dwight D. Eisenhower.
