Twitter set to block offensive and illegal tweets

tweet is a 140-character message, which you can send through Twitter if you are a user of this network.

A twitter user had every right to write anything inside the message box until yesterday. Twitter has now announced that from now onwards they could block messages that falls in the "unauthorized entity" of any particular country
and considered as offensive or even illegal.

Twitter has announced the new measures in its corporate blog. In a short note, they have given basic idea to their respective users: "Almost every country in the world believes that freedom of expression is a fundamental right.
However, many other countries think that freedom of speech should not exceed the limits."

The social network revealed that, after extending its services to many countries, they have concluded that some of the countries have other ideas about the freedom of expression.

The company, however, has failed to define too clearly what kind of content they will be blocking, in this public notice.

So far, the measure has not been implemented. The company announced that when you will write a message, it will be communicated to the affected user and those who cannot access the content will be informed that it is blocked.

In the policy section, it is clearly written that Twitter intends to respect the "local laws", but that does not reveal whether any national law will restrict the company by stopping the freedom of expression by its users.

Twitter has reached an agreement with “Chillingeffects” which will publish the tweets withdrawal requests and keep Internet users informed by the decisions. It would be the first Internet Company that implements censorship as local
content.

In the meanwhile, Google has also pressurized the Chinese government to maintain a censored search engine in the country.

Anonymous has already expressed its opposition to the measure in the same Twitter and many Internet users have joined a strike for Saturday tweets.

"I will not make any tweet," Anonymous was quoted as saying.
