‘Agneepath’, which was one of the most eagerly awaited movies of this year, is doing a great business at the Indian box office and Hrithik Roshan’s role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan is one of the main reasons behind the movie’s stupendous success. However, Hrithik don’t want audiences to compare him with the legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan, who played the character almost two decades back.
The character of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan was made iconic back in the 1990’s by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in the original ‘Agneepath’ but the movie was a failure at the box office. Nevertheless, the remake of ‘Agneepath’ has broken all the records thus far since it collected an amount of Rs. 25 crore on its very first day yet Hrithik believes he is not worth comparing with Big B.
“You can’t compare (with Amitabh). If you start comparing, I will fail in a second. I feel people are not saying that I have done as well (as Bachchan), but I think what they are saying is I have done well in my way and they are cheering for me,” said Hrithik, who is receiving rave reviews for his performance.
“I don’t even want to analyse. There are no comparisons in my head,” added the 38-year-old actor.
“This is a tribute, a homage to the legend of ‘Agneepath’,” he added.
Along with Hrithik ‘Agneepath’ also featured the likes of Sunjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and former Miss. World, Priyanka Chopra, and all the actors have been highly appreciated by the audiences. Especially, Sunjay Dutt’s role of Kancha Cheena, which was originally played by Danny Denzongpa, has left people flabbergasted.
The cinemas all over the country are still fully packed and it looks as if ‘Agneepath’ will break all the box office records.
Hrithik Roshan’s last film ‘Zindagi Na Milay Ge Dobara’ also did an excellent business at the box office, for which he was also nominated for the Filmfare best actor award.
The actor is currently participating in the shooting for ‘Krrish 2’, which is being produced and directed by his father Rakesh Roshan.
