iPhone 5 rumoured to have bigger screen and 4G capability – Part 1
Friday, January 27th, 2012 12:47:34 by Usman KhalidThe start of the New Year for Apple means new rumours on its products and keeping the company’s history in sight, it always has a surprise in the bag. The most awaited among Apple’s line-up of devices, iPhone is the most discussed.
There have been new developments in the news regarding the smartphone and a reliable source that works at one of Apple’s vendors revealed some changes in the new edition of the iPhone.
According to the source, the new phone will incorporate new 4-inch or higher LED backlit screen with higher resolution to keep the Retina Display moniker attached to the product. The new and larger LCD, according to the source, is a reaction to the Android-powered phones in the market. Due to the fact that many companies have hoarded countless smartphones into the market with larger and brighter screens, the response toward iPhone is taking blows.
However, that being a rumour, without substantial evidence, holds little or no truth to itself. The media had been waterlogged with numerous rumours last year on the release of iPhone 5 with bigger screen and whatnot. But Apple’s release of iPhone 4S mooted all the telltales.
Keeping the pedigree of the company in view, however, there could be some truth to this rumour. IPhone, since its release in 2007, has been releasing an ‘S’ version on alternate terms and last year was part of the sequence. Moreover, the source that revealed the aforesaid update in the phone stated last year that iPhone will not see the suffix ‘5’ attached to it in 2011, instead Apple was looking for another ‘S’ edition, the source said last summer.
Therefore, keeping the truth in its statements and its relationship with Apple might hold some accuracy to it. The source further suggested that the new phone might also carry the dimensions of the iPhone 4 and 4S, instead of a teardrop shape that had been in rumour since February, 2011.
