Most directors want to release movies later on in the year so judges have them in mind when voting for the top directions, but Karan Malhotra had a plan in his mind to make it one which blows everyone away even before the storm started.
Agneepath, a remake of the original film released in 1990, which had Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead role of Vijay Dinanath Chavan and Danny Denzongpa as Kancha Cheena, is not one to be compared with the latest release.
"We’re ecstatic!" exults producer Karan Johar. "Revisiting a cult classic is a daunting task but the director (Karan Malhotra) with his brilliant cast and crew have created magic."
As Hrithik Roshan (now in the role of Vijay) previously stated, he was not wanting comparisons with Bachchan, certainly did show what he meant by bringing in a whole new level of acting into the scene.
“You can’t compare (with Amitabh). If you start comparing, I will fail in a second. I feel people are not saying that I have done as well (as Bachchan), but I think what they are saying is I have done well in my way and they are cheering for me,” said Hrithik,
who is receiving rave reviews for his performance.
If you are tired of the new age item cinema like “Desi Boys” or “Dirty Picture”, Agneepath will definitely take you back to when watching a movie was actually time well spent. The movie does not fail to keep the viewer involved with meaningful dialogue and
enough fighting to satisfy any action junkie.
The script is well balanced and carries emotional and comedy side-by-side to have the viewer in constant change of heart.
Sunjay Dutt (Kancha) played the role of the villain so well that after the movie comes to an end there are not enough words to describe the level of hate you have acquired for him on a personal level.
Having broken records on opening day, Agneepath is surely a movie for all that want that perfect combination when it comes to watching good cinema.
I would rate Agneepath a 10/10
