Mickey Arthur expecting India to bounce back in ODIs
Monday, January 30th, 2012 1:10:31 by Rana Nasir GhafoorAustralian head coach, Mickey Arthur does not want his players to be complacent, and said that India will be an entirely different side in the upcoming one-day triangular series.
The Kangaroos heaped a lot of misery on India by imposing a 4-0 whitewash in the Test series. It was India’s second consecutive overseas clean-sweep defeat, as they were hammered by England last year.
The Men in Blue failed to put up any notable performance against Michael Clarke and men. The hosts not only posted big scores on the board, but also bundled India out for paltry totals.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and company is under enormous pressure at the moment. However, the Aussie coach asked his guys not to take things for granted, saying that Team Blue would come hard at them in the shorter version of the sport.
"I think we’re going to see a totally different India. There’s no doubt in my mind. They’re definitely hurting. They’ve got players in who bring a huge amount of enthusiasm the likes of (Suresh) Raina, Rohit Sharma. (Virat) Kohli is a quality player. Players
like Ravindra Jadeja bring a huge amount to the side. I’m sure they’re going to come very strong at us," Arthur told reporters.
Despite expecting India to fight back in the upcoming games, Arthur was sure about Australia’s even better performance ahead.
He described that the Aussie camp is determined not to loosen their grip and beat India comprehensively in the One Day Internationals.
Arthur recently took over as Australia’s coach, after the termination of Tim Nielsen. When asked about the inclusion of young players in Australia’s T20 squad, he shared, "It was really nice meeting a whole new ground of players. It almost refreshed us as
a support staff because we’ve been on the road for long with the Test team. It energised us a little bit."
"It’s the start of something new. There’s a group of players there that have got first bite at a potential World Cup (spot) in six months time. We want to see what they are all about," added the former South African cricketer.
