Mariam Nawaz Shareef: A new chapter in Pakistani politics

Mariam Nawaz Shareef, daughter of Muslim League N’s chairman Nawaz Shareef, has taken a rather unconventional approach to gain popularity among the young masses. The young politician is seen spending a substantial time of her day on Twitter, a social networking site
that enables people to remain up-to-date with what their favourite politician, athlete, actor, singer, dancer, friend or entrepreneur is up to.

The daughter of one of the biggest character in Pakistani politics is seen tackling a series of complicated questions during her tweeting sessions. Her followers on Twitter hardly cut her any slack and bombard her with questions, queries and strong criticism. However, she continuously and
consistently proves herself to be a woman of substance and manages to respond to everything hurled in her direction effectively while upholding class and elegance.

Every time Mariam responds to one of the many questions fired at her, the grace is evident in her responses . There is hardly anyone who gets his wish of provoking her fulfilled as the young politician manages to steer the direction of argument towards something
more productive instead of simply wasting time on meaningless arguments.

Her composed attitude while dealing with all sort of people from around the nation only serves to highlight the fact that she knows how to connect with a variety of people irrespective of who they are and where they come from. People getting in touch with her through Twitter keep presenting her with one challenge
after another, only to find the young politician meet the challenge head on.

Mariam seems to fit the description of a well-educated politician, though it is only after hearing the daughter of Nawaz Shareef speak that one becomes aware of the potential that she really has. She does not only look educated, but sounds educated as well, a rare characteristic to find in a politician.

While her words leave quite an impression on the reader, more often than naught Mariam finds herself throwing mud at other political parties. For some reason. Politicians always fail to realize that people who live in glass houses should not throw pebbles
at others.

According to Mariam, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a party full of turncoats and politicians who lack vision. The list of politicians who waved goodbye to their previous parties in order to become a part of Imran Khan’s Tsunami is huge, though the most notable
of these politicians include Makhdoom Javaid Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and a handful of other politicians.

Stooping to such a low level does not suit the likes of Mariam at all. She comes off as a rather sensible and intelligent person and thus one expects her to show respect to other parties and their leadership.

It is only a matter of months now before we get our chance to see Mariam in action. While she promises a major transformation of Pakistan, only time will tell if she manages to deliver on her promises or if she disappoints the nation as well.
