US State department holds Meeting of the Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy
Washington DC: (Tuesday, January 31, 2012) The Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy (ACIEP) met today, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harry S Truman Building.
Hosted by Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez and Committee Chairman Theodore Kassinger, the meeting lasted until approximately 4:00 p.m. and was made open to the public.
The committee serves the U.S. government in a solely advisory capacity concerning current issues and challenges in international economic policy. The topic of the January 31 meeting was a New Focus on Investment: Attracting Inbound
Foreign Direct Investment to the United States; it also highlighted the U.S.-Turkish economic relationship and the accomplishments of the bilateral U.S.-Turkey Economic Partnership Commission.
The public representatives also attend this meeting. Admittance to the State Department building was by means of a pre-arranged clearance list.
