Vidya Balan likes Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood buzz, Vidya Balan, recently earned the Best Actress trophy for her magnificent performance in Milan Luthria’s film ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was released last year. However, when the actress was asked who she thinks is the best co-worker in the industry besides her, Balan replied, Priyanka Chopra.

Former Miss. World, Piggy Chops, was also awarded with the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ on the same night when Balan got the award. ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ was a failure at the Indian box office but it was Chopra’s marvellous acting which took her to the glory. Priyanka’s second film ‘Don 2 – The King is Back’, in which she played a role opposite to SRK, was however a mega hit.

Balan thinks Priyanka is a very versatile actress and there are not many like her out there.

“I like Priyanka…she is an actress whose work I like. She is always trying to do something different which I appreciate. I am not going by any of her particular performance but I like Priyanka.”

Meanwhile, Balan was asked about her upcoming movie ‘Kahaani’, which is all set to release on March 9, 2012. In the movie Balan is playing a pregnant woman’s role, who is in search of her husband.

“‘Kahani’ is a mystery film and I won’t be wrong if I say that in Hindi cinema we have not had a mystery film for a long time. ‘Kahani’ is edgy, pacey and we have got great response from the promos,” she said.

‘Kahaani’, which has been directed by Sujoy Ghosh, has become a much-anticipated film and this is all because of the stupendous success of ‘The Dirty Picture’ since audiences now want to see, if Balan can once again provide them with the same level of entertainment.

Balan knows the fact as well that her image today is only because of ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was initially criticised by many. Balan admitted agreeing for ‘The Dirty Picture’ has done a great job for her.

“I am glad I did not let it pass and did this film because it has been life-changing for me in more ways than one,” the 34-year-old maintained.
