‘ It’s a Jungle Out there ‘

Pakistan is the sixth largest country in the world with its total population touching an alarming figure of 180 million. Karachi is the largest and the third most populous city in the world with a maximum number of 12,991,000 people living within its borders.
Shanghai and Istanbul are the top two populous cities in the world with a total amount of 17,836,133 and 13,255,685. Karachi is the main sea port and the capital of Sindh as well as the financial centre of the country.
The economic centre means the progress of Pakistan solely depends on the smooth and peaceful Karachi, which only seems like a dream. Cast and religious differences has turned the city into literally a warzone.
Out of a huge number of people living in the city, a majority is hardly human anymore and this holds true for other major cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Rawalpindi or even Islamabad.
No matter how hard one tries to think optimistically, one way or the other we have a knack of showing our inner animal and that too on regular basis. It literally seems like we are living in the wild with no law whatsoever.
Terrorism, corrupt politicians, electricity or gas crisis, growing petrol prices or the inflation are off course playing an important role in ruining our image. However, all these factors have nothing to do with our social behaviour with each other.
For instance, it does not take long for a minor car accident to transform into bloodshed. The pedestrians will gather around as if they have not seen anything like that ever before.
The thumb rule to win such incidents is to never accept your fault because if you do, you are doomed to face financial as well as physical penalties. However, it is never easy to handle such situations especially if the other person has a better grip on
the ‘never accept your fault’ technique.
The most upsetting situation is when both the parties disagree to admit their mistake and start getting physical with each other. All the moving objects within the range of the fight will stop and there will be an immediate traffic jam.
You might also witness people ripping each other apart after a minor accident which is definitely needless and can be handled differently.
It is hard to understand the vigorous behaviour of our compatriots because the way we behave at times clearly makes us nothing less than the untamed creatures of the wild.
Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) revealed that, “Poverty may well become a cause of infidelity” but our behaviour is nothing close to infidelity, its worst, pretty worst.
