Daniel Radcliffe admits ‘The Women in Black’ is not for children
Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 2:03:42 by Waqas TariqEnglish actor Daniel Radcliffe has claimed that his new film ‘The Women in Black’ is not for children. He stated that the film is frightening and can be difficult for children to absorb. He further added that the
movie has a targeted audience of teenagers and people in the age group of 30-45 and not for younger ones.
‘The Women in Black’ is a horror-thriller based on Susan Hill’s novel and will be releasing in the first week of February. The film will be Radcliffe’s first as an actor after Harry Potter’s last outing last year.
The actor claimed that film is very scary and admitted that if he was a young kid, he would never have watched the movie. He insisted that there are certain scenes in the movie which would be difficult for the young ones to absorb.
“I would say if you’re under 12, you really shouldn’t see this film. I think as a parent, unless you’ve got an incredibly tough child, I would not go and see this film, because it is genuinely frightening and might buy you a couple
of nights of a sleepless child,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The ‘Harry Potter’ star claimed that he is extremely satisfied with the venture and praised how the film has been handled behind the camera. He admitted that his chemistry with his son in the movie is brilliant and is surely to
watch out for.
“My godson played as my son in the film. I asked for him to be auditioned. I thought seeing me as a boy and then father would weird people out. I wanted to make sure that the relationship was right and the chemistry was right between
me and my son and it is. It really comes across that we know each other,” he concluded.
Daniel Radcliffe recently won the Teen Choice Award for the Summer Movie Star Male for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2.
