Vitali Klitschko versus David Haye not happening confirms Bernd Bonte

Former WBA heavyweight champion, David Haye, desperately wanted to take on Vitali Klitschko, who is the reigning WBC world heavyweight champion. However, his hopes have been ended now, as Vitali’s manager, Bernard Bonte, has confirmed he is nowhere in the picture at this point in time.

Bonte said: “There is no longer anything going on with Haye.”

Bonte insisted that the main reason why the fight is not happening is money. He said Haye, who is also known as the Hayemaker, is asking for too much money and he is not worth it. Bonte also reckons Haye is no more a crowd puller.

Bonte stated: “He is asking for an impossible guarantee plus half the British television rights while we do all the work and take on all the costs.”

“The financial risk for us of going anywhere near his demands would be far too great. “

In the meantime Vitali shared his thought with the media as well. Vitali said Haye talks like Muhammad Ali but he cannot deliver like him.

Vitali is currently preparing for a fight with Dereck Chisora, which will take place at the Olympiahalle, Munich in Bayern on February 18, 2012 and the Ukrainian is expecting a tough competition than Haye would have ever provided him.

Vitali said: “He tried to be Muhammad Ali with his big words and big promises. The difference is that Ali talked and then did what he said. Haye just talked. “

“I expect a much more aggressive challenge from Chisora than Haye gave to my brother. And now the distance between Haye and us is too great. He has burned the negotiations.”

David Haye fought with Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir Klitschko in one of the biggest fights of the British history on July 2, 2011. The 31-year-old brash Londoner declared a lot before the fight but on the fight night he lost to Wladimir via unanimous point’s decision due to which he walked away from the sport.

Nevertheless, Haye has always said he will make a comeback, if he gets a chance to fight any of the Klitschko brothers since he wants to avenge his defeat.
