The American singer/song writer, actor, and dancer Chris Brown, who was recently criticized by GQ magazine about his dressing, has responded to the report saying that he has a keen eye for fashion.
GQ (originally Gentlemen’s Quarterly) is a monthly men’s magazine, which focuses on men’s fashion. The magazine tagged Chris Brown as the most worst dressed singer in its recent edition. The official statement of GQ said: "For someone who seems
to have so much disposable income – he boasts on one track about spending "15 grand on a phone" and charged over $500 for meet-and-greets on his last tour – Brown seems utterly adverse to investing in tailoring, combining the worst excesses of XXL sizing with
a penchant for deeply unflattering costumes," reports GQ. "Sorry "Team Breezy", but you may have to look away now…"
GQ (UK) almost ripped the singer to pieces in its best dressed men of 2012 issue. However, Mr Brown said: "The clothes don’t wear you, you wear the clothes. A lot of my fashion icons today are like Pharrell, he has a lot of incredible style and him being
from Virginia, that’s always one of those things that get the kids going excited. For me, I was excited as a kid, being able to see him influence the world with his fashion and him being from where I’m from. That was kinda dope. People wanna be the artist
on TV, not saying they embody the artist, but they look up to the person that’s their idols and role models."
GQ is incredibly popular in the UK and it is considered as famous as ladies fashion magazine Vogue. So its judgement is not meaningless. Chris Brown should really invest some money into tailoring, in order to meet the challenges of dressing in the industry.
