Freddie Roach not sure if Manny Pacquiao will prepare for Timothy Bradley
Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, who is one of the most well-known boxing trainers in the world, is not sure whether if his man is going to fire himself up for Timothy Bradley.
“It looks like Bradley at this point but the thing is – I worry about that some times, because can Manny really get up for guys like that,” said Roach.
The eight-division world champion, Pacquiao, will most probably defend his WBO welterweight title against Bradley on June 9 in Las Vegas because the five-division world champion and the current WBC welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather, has gone out of the picture.
Mayweather-Pacquiao dream-fight is what people desperately wanted to see but the Filipino star turned it down when the undefeated American superstar offered him a 70/30 split.
Many out there believe it is Bob Arum who doesn’t want Pacquiao to fight Mayweather. However, Roach clarified things during the interview. He said Floyd believes as if he is the biggest draw in the sport but that is not true. He said Pacquiao is the current pound-for-pound best in the world and he is also rated as the best by many.
Roach confirmed that a super-fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather will only take place when there will be a 50/50 split.
He said, “50-50 is the only way that fight is going to happen. Both guys are superstars and they both have big egos and they won’t settle for anything less.”
In the end coming back to the business Roach commented on Bradley, who is the current WBO light welterweight champion and former two-time WBC light welterweight champion. The world-class trainer admitted Bradley is a classy fighter and it would not be an easy night for Pacquiao.
Roach remarked, “Bradley is very excited and very respectful of Manny and that he’s a great fighter. He appreciates the opportunity. He is a real class guy, a very nice person and he’s going to act like a gentleman and he’s going to fight his butt off.”
Well after what Roach has said, it looks pretty certain that Pacquiao will be facing Bradley in June this year.

It’s a disappointment that if we ever see the Dream Fight both fighters will be to old to be in the ring or after one of them looses to someone else. I don’t know why Flyod thinks he deserves more of the purse than Manny. Floyd is a guy that changes his nickname to Money. He’s the guy that brags about throwing money around like going to Vegas and gambling it all away. Buying a new car before going to jail. Money isn’t a option to him till it comes to this. If the fight would have had happen when would have been the last there was a big fight like this. This fight would have been one I picked over a UFC PPV. I believe a lot of people feel like this. Well when I talk about it with others most feel the same as I do.
@Lockwood … Just to make more and more money they are loosing the charisma …. both have peaked now and taking on each other in an old age would not benefit them …. they just want money and that’s it no fans nothing …
