Dropbox extends the amount of storage
Monday, February 6th, 2012 11:22:02 by Farasat AliThe cloud-based storage internet service, Dropbox, has now increased the capacity of its free service initially, up to 5 gigabytes during a beta testing period.
The Dropbox is letting the users enjoy this fabulous offer while testing their new feature which would allow users uploading videos and photos from cameras, USB’s or a SD card reader. The beta version is not available for Mac 10.4
or Linux.
All you have to do is to download the beta version of Dropbox, if you want the additional storage. However there’s a limitation, that you can download the application if you own Windows, Mac OS 10.5 or a Linux.
On top of that, the aforementioned software is not complicated at all. You just need to download it, insert a device from which you want to extract files, and it will configure the photos and videos by searching you machine. It
will ask your permission, just in case, and consequently add the desired photos and videos to your Dropbox.
This offer came right after they closed Mega upload, for any number of Internet users who has lost access to documents and images that had been placed in their storage service.
Dropbox was founded in 2007, has 25 million users. There’s little arguing that 200 million files are saved at the Dropbox every day. It is present in over 170 countries.
Meanwhile, concerns over the rescue of the lost files on Megaupload are increasing. Last week, U.S. authorities called off the investigation and advised the companies providing server to Megaupload to store material as their sole
responsibility in the near future.
