Islamabad: (Monday, February 06, 2012) Federal Minister for Water and Power, Naveed Qamar said today that there will be no load-shedding in the country from Tuesday onwards.
Qamar, who was responding to a call attention notice in the National Assembly’s session, while claiming that the government has succeeded in controlling the line losses of the distribution companies to a great extent, claimed that
the load-shedding was going to end throughout the country by this Tuesday (tomorrow).
However, before the words of Minister for Water and Power could be aired on the media, the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) felt it necessary to make the corrections as it instantly clarified that it had nothing to do with
the decision announced by Naveed Qamar.
Responding to the Minister for Water and Power’s claims, the KESC also said that load-shedding in Karachi will continue as usual. However, the spokesman of the company said that if additional gas was to be provided to the power
producers, Karachi too could have uninterrupted electricity supply or at least the duration of the load-shedding could be curtailed.
