Divided, Faithless, Undisciplined

When the father of this nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was inaugurating Pakistan, he only had one thing to say which was that the great leader wanted to see a society where unity, faith, discipline would be the motto of the people.
Today, all we see is divided, faithless, undisciplined, as being the way we are leading our lives and play the blame game with exceptional manner instead of truly changing the way we personally are ourselves.
The saying, “Charity starts from home”, should be taken it its wider sense meaning that any sort of change should be brought from within you and not on targeting the other.
What we have failed to realise is that united we stand and divided we fall was said for a reason, but this society has done nothing to enforce national unity but rather separate it in total.
The creation of provinces has been labelled as being against national interest due to the demands of creating borders on the basis of societal classification, but do we not see, the current system has not benefitted it as we still classify each other as
being either Sindhi, Punjabi, Pushtoon or Balochi.
Forgetting our religion and giving up hope of the divine entity has been another reason for our destruction as a civilised society with western ideas and thinking beginning to prevail and the youth mirroring what they see and hear on TV channels.
Losing our identity has kept us from achieving greatness and uniqueness amongst the international platform as we feel ashamed going to a public gathering supporting our national dress and would rather be seen in the latest designer clothing.
One thing that makes a country like China great is the way they propagate their beliefs and culture amongst other nations, impressing foreigners into learning their language and even consider dressing and living like them due to a simple yet beautiful nature.
There is a popular saying that you can check the condition of a society by looking at their roads and seeing how our people drive, one could only but bow down in outright shame.
But all this does not mean we do not have any hope for the future. What many fail to realise is that Pakistan has immense potential to be one of the leading nations in the world due to the amount of talent and capabilities we possess, but tapping them is
the only requirement.
Working towards self and national development at each and every stage is the only way that we will hopefully raise our heads in front of others and want to say that we are proud Pakistani’s.
