From Pop to Rock, and from Rock to Metal, nowadays Pakistani musicians and bands are almost gratifying every listener, who is interested in listening to a specific genre.
Guitars are one of the essential ingredients of this era’s music, and Pakistan has certainly produced some of the finest across the globe. Although they cannot be compared with the likes of Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmore, Black
Sabbath’s Tony Iommi or even Dream Theater’s John Petrucci.
However, they are certainly capable of being called as the best in the business in the sub-continent.
Omran Shaique
Omran Shafique, also known as Momo, made it into the Pakistani main stream with his Texas-based band ‘Mauj’. He acclaimed appreciation from all around the country with his soothing music with a little funky and bluesy touch. He found himself a place as a
permanent member for the house band of renowned ‘Coke Studio’.
Faraz Anwar
Faraz Anwar’s musical career spreads over the last couple of decades or so. Known as the Pakistani Petrucci, he is truly one of the finest shredders in the country. After his stints with ‘Dusk’ and ‘Mizraab’, nobody can argue about his skills on the six
string instrument.
Amir Zaki
Amir Zaki can be easily classified as one of the best Blues and Jazz guitarist in Pakistan. He is without a doubt a good and one of the most talented musicians in the country. Sadly, he only released one solo album back in 1995 called ‘Signature’. The debut
album was surely one of the finest and especially the single ‘Mera Pyar’ was one of the most played songs on Pakistan Television in any music show.
