Islamabad: (Tuesday, February 07, 2012) Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan said today that the consensus among the political parties on the passage of 20th Constitutional amendment reeked a deal.
Supporting his argument, the cricketer turned politician said that it was a conspiracy hatched by all the beneficiaries of the NRO which was bound to affect poor of the country.
Chairman PTI was of the view that the troika of President Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman had left the country damaged and poorer.
He alleged that while posing the friendly opposition, Nawaz Sharif actually protected the corrupt system while Fazlur Rehman pretended to engage in protecting Islam, but in reality, both of them had only strengthened Zardari’s
hands.
He said as the memogate scandal drew pressure, Nawaz Sharif silently backed off from its earlier stance over the issue.
Opposing Pakistan’s involvement in America’s war on terror, Imran said it caused Pakistan to incur a loss of over 50 billion dollars during past four years. He also said that the debt burden during the present regime had more
than doubled.
