India vs Srilanka 2nd ODI: Srilankan batting update

The Lankans are playing their first game on the Australian tour while
India have already been battered by the Kangaroos on Sunday, February 05.
Srilanka won the toss in the 2nd ODI and elected to bat first under the seaming conditions in Perth. Upul Tharanga and former captain, Tillikaratne Dilshan got the innings underway. However, Srilanka suffered an early setback in the form of Tharanga,
who was caught in the slips of Sachin Tendulkar on the bowling of Zaheer Khan.
Kumar Sangakkara and Dilshan eased Srilanka’s progress before another former captain in the form of Sangakkara edged a delivery from Zaheer into the gloves of Indian skipper, Mahinder Singh Dhoni. Dilshan followed him when he was just two runs short of his
half century, getting caught at the gully position by Virat Kohli on the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja.
Captain, Mahela Jayawardene managed to score 23 runs before holding out at deep midwicket on the bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin. Rohit Sharma picked up the catch in the outfield. Dinesh Chandimal played an outstanding knock of 64 runs before being stumped
by Dhoni of Ashwin. Angelo Matthews offered some resistance in the lower middle order by scoring 33 off 28 balls to help Srilanka compile 233 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Ashwin was the most successful bowler with 3/32 in 10 overs. Zaheer picked up two wickets while Vinay Kumar and Jadeja picked up a wicket each. Praveen Kumar stayed wicket less in his 10 overs.
